Zoey's and Josh's puppy pictures were taken on December 24, 2009, at 6 weeks of age.

The puppies are running, playing, and chewing on their toys, each other, and everything else in the pen, including the pen. Their vision is clear. The tan and copper points are continuing to come in, along with the nose and facial pigmentation. They are becoming more vocal and are sleeping about 30 percent of the time. They race over to us and whine to be picked up.

Their eye color is a dark bluish brown at this time, and will to change to brown or blue over the next few weeks or months.

They eat and drink like the big doggies, getting less on themselves and more into their bellies.

The puppies are playing contantly when they are awake. They love getting new toys, or toys that come directly from the washing machine. They are aware of their surroundings and are curious and inquisitive about everything. Their new favorite toys are the mop and the broom, when we clean their pen.

We bought a roll of butcher paper to use instead of newpaper, which can be cut to size and laid down for the puppies to potty on. It stays in place better, and the puppies are less inclined to play with it. They love the new butcher paper, and they race over to potty on it the minute it's laid down in their pen. We are putting down less butcher paper down in the pen, so the puppies will learn to only go potty in the potty pool, and because they have started to play with the paper.

The Puppies are using the potty pool most of the time. We use cat pine litter, because it's natural and safe to eat. The puppies tasted it when we first started using it, but they seldom eat it now that they are used to it.
